Sami Alsabawi, National Director of Sani Service added “the cultures of Citron Hygiene and Sani-Service are quite similar – both are leaders in their respective service offerings with a relentless focus on delivering “best in class” customer service.  Citron Hygiene and Sani-Service will work together to ensure a seamless transition process for its customers.”

3 Reasons to Consider a Professional Pest Control Provider for your Business

Bed bugs are an insect that doctors and Pest Control Professionals alike would consider to be non-threatening, as they don’t transmit diseases to humans. Yet, the moment someone posts a review online criticizing your business for having them, your facility’s pest management issues will go viral and potentially deteriorate your reputation. Imagine the public relations nightmare you would encounter if a more “visible” pest, like cockroaches or mice, were scurrying around the floors.

Why let this happen?

qualityProAt Citron Hygiene, we only hire the best. All Citron Hygiene Pest Management Professionals are fully licensed and Quality Pro Certified with years of experience in both residential and commercial sectors. Our pest control services follow well established Integrated Pest Management protocols which mean we don’t just treat a pest infestation; we identify the root cause of the problem and implement preventative measures to avoid future issues. Our experienced team can deal with a full range of pest issues and will provide you with the peace of mind that your issue will be resolved reliably and cost – effectively.

Cost Savings

Specific pests require targeted applications based on their habits. Therefore, hiring a company for a one-time treatment of your building’s issues isn’t the best way to solving your pest issues long term. Your business needs a Pest Prevention strategy to combat future problems.

Citron Hygiene pest control services follow LEED certification requirements and are based on well-established Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.  By focusing on pest prevention and reducing the attractiveness of host buildings, Citron Hygiene is able to minimize the use of pesticides and avoid situations where remediation is necessary.

Our Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) are trained consultants who develop programs based on the specific dynamics of the facility in question.  Our PMPs follow a structured process to ensure we develop and maintain effective pest prevention programs, thus saving you money in the long run.

Brand Management

The Bed Bug registry compiles thousands of user-submitted reviews across Canada. Each comment demonstrates how pests drive customers to remove all trust from your business, potentially damaging the relationship. This registry is just one example, but any review site will do the same.

As a business, you should display the building’s ongoing pest management strategies. Utilizing a commercial service specializing in IPM will only benefit you, proving to your clientele that an all-encompassing approach to pest control exists.

Record Keeping

On an ongoing basis, Citron Hygiene PMPs evaluate the effectiveness of the program.  They communicate on a frequent and regular basis, escalate issues, report on activity and recommend program changes and enhancements if required. PMP’s inspect and monitor both the interior and exterior areas of the business to identify potential problem areas.

Don’t wait for an issue to arise and scare impending business away. Call Citron Hygiene Pest Control, 800.643.6922 for more information on preventing pest issues in your business.

Citron Hygiene Launches Multi-Residential Pest Control Program

Citronn Hygiene is pleased to announce the launch of the new Multi-Residential Pest Control section

multi-building

Citron Hygiene is a key player in commercial and residential pest control and is now expanding their footprint in this space.

Multi-Residential Pest Control is a necessity for property managers and building owners. Citron Hygiene combines a deep understanding of commercial facilities with broad expertise in residential spaces to deliver comprehensive and cost-effective pest management programs for multi-residential complexes. Citron Hygiene understands that tenant retention is a top priority for building managers. This is why they take the time to get to know your building and tenants. Each program is specifically designed to meet your individual needs.

When it comes to pest control, apartment and condominium buildings have to be treated differently than other commercial buildings. This is because each unit is connected to each other by electrical, plumbing and heating. This gives pests an easy road to find new food sources. Cockroaches, Bed Bugs and even Mice all use these routes to go from one unit to the next, making Pest Control very difficult.

Citron Hygiene Pest Control is known to use innovative methods when it comes to execution of pest control services.

Citron Hygiene Pest Control provides comprehensive Multi-Residential pest management services around Ontario and Quebec. For more information, please visit:

McGill University Health Centre Recognizes Sewer Overflow Issues are caused from Too Many Tampons and Pads Being Flushed down Toilets

McGill University Health Centre Recognizes Sewer Overflow Issues are caused from Too Many Tampons and Pads Being Flushed down Toilets

A recent article published in the Montreal Gazette ePaper discusses how too many tampons and pads being flushed down the toilets are causing backups that flooded the birthing centre. This is generally an issue when women don’t have the proper receptacle to discard the feminine hygiene products.

When it comes to feminine hygiene in the washroom, specialized disposal systems are essential, since sanitary waste carries the risk of blood borne diseases. Improper disposal can heighten infection risks, while being a major contributor to washroom plumbing issues.

Citron Hygiene’s innovative service programs remove sanitary waste from your facility safely and efficiently, and provide a pleasant and discrete means of disposing of feminine articles. It is a respectful convenience that women truly appreciate.

If your facility simply has a “wall box” to dispose of sanitary waste, eventually this waste will end up in landfill. Diverting waste from landfill is integral to Citron Hygiene’s environmental programs and we have taken this initiative a step further through our partnership with Covanta Energy. Covanta provides a safe, technologically advanced means of waste disposal, through incineration, that generates clean, renewable energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and supports the recovery of metals.

We currently send waste generated through our sanitary disposal service to Covanta for waste-to-energy conversion.

The Hygeia™ Raises the Ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Hygeia™, a new feminine hygiene disposal unit / service for commercial washrooms from Citron Hygiene, is raising awareness and funds for women’s cancer research and turning a subject that is rarely discussed, feminine hygiene, into a topic of conversation.

The safe, stylish and socially responsible Hygeia™ provides a pleasant, convenient and discrete method for disposing of feminine articles. Not your typical “wall box”, the Hygeia™ has an innovative cylindrical shape and is turning heads with its designer wraps that enhance the décor of a commercial washroom.

Citron Hygiene also offers a “Charity Wrap” which features the familiar pink ribbon and says “This facility supports the fight to end women’s cancers”. Through the Citron Hygiene Cares Foundation for Women, fifty percent of Charity Wrap sales are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for women’s cancer research. For the month of October that financial contribution is being increased to 100%.

“We saw the Charity Wrap as a unique opportunity because we provide a very specific product for women and this is a very specific women’s cause. The response from customers has been extremely positive as the messaging on the Charity Wrap also communicates their support for the program.”, said Peter Farrell, President of Citron Hygiene.

Susan Drodge, Director of Corporate and Community Partnerships and Donor Services at the Canadian Cancer Society comments, “Through the Hygeia™ Charity Wrap program, Citron Hygiene has raised thousands of dollars to help support the fight against women’s cancers.”

Several thousand Hygeia™ units are in service in commercial offices, malls, sporting venues, restaurants and retail facilities across the country.

Citron Hygiene Featured in Canadian Cancer Society’s Corporate Spotlight

In 2013 Citron Hygiene partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society to launch a corporate giving campaign and this month the company is featured in the Corporate Spotlight section of Canadian Cancer Society’s Website.

A leading provider of support services for commercial facilities, Citron Hygiene first introduced the feminine hygiene disposal service in 1955.

The newest introduction in the feminine hygiene service segment is the wall mounted Hygeia™. Its innovative cylindrical design provides options for decorative wraps to be applied to the unit to enhance the décor of a commercial washroom. Citron Hygiene introduced a charity wrap option for its clients which features the familiar pink ribbon and says “This facility supports the fight to end women’s cancers”.

“We saw the charity wrap as a unique opportunity because we provide a very specific product for women and this is a very specific women’s cause,” said Peter Farrell, President of Citron Hygiene.

Through its CitronCares™ Foundation for Women, fifty percent of the proceeds from the sale of each charity wrap are directed towards research for women’s cancers.
